Lisa Schuette, Carson City Board of Supervisors, Ward 4 – Endorsed

Lisa Schuette has held the Ward 4 seat on the Carson City Board of Supervisors since 2021. She serves on the Audit Committee, the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC), the Carson Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO), the Board of Health, the Redevelopment Authority, the Redevelopment Authority Citizens Committee, and the Parks and Recreation Commission. Additionally, Lisa served on the 2023 NACo National Housing Taskforce.

Born and raised in Carson City, Lisa graduated from Carson High School and the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Science in English. She has served this community as a Sheriff’s Deputy, Juvenile Probation Officer and Middle School Health Teacher, being named Nevada Department of Education HIV Educator of the Year in 2009, Carson City Teacher of the Year in 2013. She has been involved in community service her whole adult life, including serving on several non-profit boards, and starting two memorial scholarships.

In 2012, Lisa founded Carson Animal Services Initiative (CASI), spearheading the effort to build and equip the new animal shelter. CASI currently works with local veterinarians to help low-income pet owners spay/neuter their pets through the CASI Critter Fixer program, directly reducing the number of pet surrenders to city shelters. In 2018 Lisa was honored as one of Northern Nevada’s Top 20 Powerful Women by Northern Nevada Business Weekly, and named a 2024 Women of Distinction by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce.

Lisa is excited about participating in Carson City’s Master Plan update, seeing the process as a great opportunity for residents to share their ideas to reflect a true community vision. She has prioritized investment in safety and city infrastructure, including the building of a new fire station, updating the Quill Water Treatment Plant, and finding ways to meet our neighborhood road preservation challenges.

Married to her husband, Steve, for 35 years, the Schuettes share their home with Hank the dog.
