John’s family moved to Carson City in the early 1990s. He attended school here, graduating from Carson High in 2003. He has worked for Nevada State Prisons for 18 years as a law enforcement professional and certified public manager for the Nevada Department of Corrections.
As a member of the school board, John wants to ensure that all students in the district receive a rigorous and well-rounded education that prepares them for success in life. He is committed to supporting initiatives to create a welcoming and supportive environment for all students, regardless of their background or circumstance. He will advocate for the mental and emotional well-being of students and faculty, fostering open communication between the school district and families
John believes in responsible budgeting and fiscal management to maximize resources that support student achievement. He feels his experience working with stakeholders within the constraints of legislative mandates, and his ability to evaluate data will help the School District to develop fact-based policies.
