Jacky Rosen, U.S. Senator, Nevada – Endorsed

Jacky is the granddaughter of immigrants and the daughter of a World War II veteran. She grew up in a working class family and was the first in her family to graduate from college. She worked multiple jobs – including as a cocktail waitress at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas – and took out student loans to make ends meet. After working as a computer programmer in Southern Nevada, she stepped away from her career to care for elder family members. Before running for office, Jacky was a community leader in Henderson; serving as the president of her synagogue.

Jacky is running for reelection to the Senate. She will work for the people and reject the same old Washington games. She’s leading efforts to reform Washington by preventing Members of Congress from collecting paychecks if they fail to pass a budget on time and passing her bipartisan bill to ensure corrupt members of Congress lose their taxpayer-funded pensions. She wants to fix our  broken campaign finance system. The Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision changed the landscape of our democracy, allowing billionaires and corporate special interests to pump unlimited amounts of money into our elections. Jacky supports a constitutional amendment to overturn this disastrous decision and return power to the voters.

Jacky helped pass a historic new law that caps the price of insulin at $35 per month for seniors and gives Medicare the power to negotiate lower prescription drug costs, and she’s continuing the fight to cap insulin costs and make medications more affordable for all Americans. She is taking on Big Oil’s price gouging and working to protect Nevadans from even higher gas prices at the pump. She is also pushing to build more housing that regular Nevadans can afford, prevent grocery prices from increasing further, and leading a bipartisan effort to increase the availability of high-quality affordable child care for Nevada families. And most importantly, Jacky supports cutting taxes for the middle class to provide more economic relief to families who need it most.
